ABOUT
Lawgistics is an Australian-founded legal internship provider specialising in commercial law placements in Kuala Lumpur. Our program is structured to qualify for New Colombo Plan Mobility funding and integrate as a credit-bearing elective under standard Work Integrated Learning (WIL) frameworks.
We run three cohorts annually (January, June, September), each capped at 8 to 12 students. Every placement is delivered through founder-embedded supervision inside Malaysia's commercial bar.

NCP Objectives
How we meet NCP objectives:
Indo-Pacific capability. Placements develop substantive legal capability in a priority NCP host location, with direct exposure to Malaysian commercial, civil, and federal court systems.
Asian language target. Each cohort includes a 2-hour-weekly Bahasa Malaysia module taught by a Malaysian tutor, supporting your university's 15% language capability target.
Regional engagement. Lawgistics maintains formal partnerships with Malaysian commercial law firms and contributes to Australia's professional services presence in Southeast Asia.
Alumni network. All Lawgistics alumni join an ongoing network connected to the KL legal market, supporting NCP's long-term regional engagement objectives.
-
Minimal. Lawgistics manages applications, placements, supervision, and reporting. Your team's role is to sign off on the NCP Mobility application, confirm WIL credit recognition, and ensure students are enrolled in the correct subject for grant eligibility. Typical staff time commitment: 4 to 6 hours per cohort.
-
No fee to become a partner university. Students pay a program fee covering placement coordination, accommodation in central KL, supervision, and the language module. Most of the student fee is recoverable through NCP Mobility grants. Current program fee schedule available on request.
-
Commercial litigation, dispute resolution and corporate. Specialist placements available on request. Students are matched to practice areas based on academic background and stated interests.
-
Yes. The primary funding source is the New Colombo Plan Mobility Program, which can cover most of the program cost when administered through your university. We provide all NCP application documentation. Some students also access OS-HELP loans, university travel grants and faculty bursaries.
