Internship Program Terms & Conditions
Last updated: 2025 · Lawgistics Australia Pty Ltd
These Terms and Conditions apply to all applicants and participants in Lawgistics Australia internship programs. By submitting an application or accepting a placement, you agree to be bound by these terms in full.
01
Role of Lawgistics
Lawgistics acts as a facilitator between interns, host organisations, and universities. We coordinate placements, provide pre-departure support, and maintain relationships with host firms. We do not employ interns unless expressly stated in a separate written agreement.
02
Eligibility
Eligibility criteria may vary by program and intake. Criteria may include:
Satisfactory academic standing as determined by Lawgistics
Relevant skills, experience, or professional conduct
Valid visa, work rights, and immigration compliance for Malaysia
Any additional requirements specified at the time of application
Lawgistics reserves the right to assess eligibility at its discretion.
03
Application and Placement Process
Submission of an application does not guarantee placement. The placement process is subject to:
Availability of suitable host organisations at the time of your program
Final acceptance decisions made by host organisations, not Lawgistics
Program capacity and intake limits
PLEASE NOTE
Lawgistics will make reasonable efforts to place all accepted applicants. However, placement with a specific firm, in a specific practice area, or during a specific period cannot be guaranteed. Host firm availability may change at any time.
04
Fees and Cancellation
Program fees, payment schedules, and cancellation terms are set out in the separate Cancellation Policy available on our website. By accepting a placement, you agree to those terms in addition to these conditions.
Lawgistics does not guarantee refunds in circumstances where a placement is withdrawn due to participant misconduct, non-compliance, or voluntary withdrawal after acceptance.
05
No Employment Relationship
Participation in a Lawgistics internship does not create an employment relationship with Lawgistics or with any host organisation. Interns are not entitled to wages, superannuation, leave entitlements, or other employment benefits unless expressly agreed in writing.
06
Conduct and Professional Standards
Participants are expected to maintain professional standards throughout the program. This includes compliance with:
All policies and procedures of the host organisation
Applicable laws and regulations in Malaysia and Australia
Lawgistics' reasonable directions and program requirements
Standards of professional conduct expected of a law student or graduate
07
Confidentiality
During your placement you may be exposed to confidential information belonging to the host organisation or its clients. You must:
Keep all client and firm information strictly confidential
Not disclose, reproduce, or discuss confidential matters outside the firm
Comply with any confidentiality or non-disclosure requirements of the host organisation
This obligation continues after the conclusion of your placement.
08
Termination and Withdrawal
Lawgistics reserves the right to withdraw a participant from a program at any time for reasons including, but not limited to:
Misconduct or breach of professional standards
Non-compliance with host organisation policies or applicable law
Conduct that brings Lawgistics or a host organisation into disrepute
Any other reasonable grounds as determined by Lawgistics
Participants may withdraw voluntarily, subject to the Cancellation Policy.
09
Visas, Immigration and Compliance
Participants are solely responsible for ensuring they hold the correct visa and meet all immigration and work rights requirements to participate in a placement in Malaysia. Lawgistics does not provide immigration advice and accepts no liability for visa refusals, delays, or non-compliance.
IMPORTANT
We strongly recommend seeking independent immigration advice before applying. Acceptance into the program does not guarantee that you will be granted the necessary visa or travel approvals.
10
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Lawgistics is not liable for any loss, damage, injury, or expense arising from:
Actions or omissions of any host organisation or its staff
Loss of placement due to host firm changes or unavailability
Any personal injury, illness, or safety incident during the program
Failure to obtain visa approvals or travel clearances
Any academic, employment, or career outcome following the program
Nothing in these terms limits any rights you may have under the Australian Consumer Law or other non-excludable statutory protections.
11
Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia. Any disputes arising in connection with these terms shall be subject to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Victoria and the Commonwealth of Australia.
