Funding Your Experience

Welcome

Studying overseas doesn’t have to be out of reach. Many Lawgistics students fund their program through government grants, university funding and student loans specifically designed to support international study, internships and professional placements.

Your first step is simple:

Speak with your University Learning Abroad or Global Mobility Office.

Funding options vary between universities, but many students are surprised by how much support is available.

New Colombo Plan

Many Australian universities offer New Colombo Plan (NCP) grants for eligible students undertaking internships in the Indo-Pacific region.

The NCP is a flagship Australian Government initiative aimed at strengthening Australia’s relationships across Asia through:

  • Education

  • Professional exchange

  • Long-term people-to-people connections

To be eligible, students must typically be:

  • Enrolled in a degree program for academic credit

  • Approved by their university’s Learning Abroad or Faculty Office

Availability and eligibility vary by university, so students should check directly with their campus Learning Abroad team.

OS-HELP

OS-HELP is a Commonwealth Government loan available to eligible undergraduate and postgraduate students enrolled in a Commonwealth Supported Place (CSP) who wish to complete part of their studies overseas.

  • Students may access up to two OS-HELP loans over the duration of their degree (not within the same six-month period)

  • Loan amounts are indexed annually to reflect inflation and cost of living

OS-HELP applications are managed directly through your university. Each institution has its own process, timelines and eligibility criteria.
