Your comparison essay · six questions · about two minutes
What will your essay compare?
Every student writes one comparative piece over the four weeks: how Malaysia does something, how Australia does it, and what the difference means in practice. Answer six questions and get a topic, a research question and the two statutes to start from.
A starting point, not an assignment. Your final topic is settled with us before you start writing, so it fits the matters you will actually see at the firm.
What a good comparison looks like
Malaysia, then Australia, then the difference.
- Start from the statute in each country, not from commentary.
- Find where the two systems share an English common law root and where they have since split.
- Say what the difference changes for a client, a court or a practitioner, in plain terms.
- Check every case you cite against the report itself. A wrong citation costs more than a missing one.
